Cedar Point Recovery is proud to introduce the licensed and certified alcohol and drug treatment professionals that make up our treatment team, as well as the rest of the staff that make recovery possible for our clients. Our treatment team incorporates all of our rehabilitation services into individualized addiction recovery programs specifically designed for each client. Our people are passionate about working with people in addiction recovery, and use every available resource to design treatment programs that meet our clients physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Andrew Mendonsa, Psy.D., MBAChief Operating Officer
Dr. Andrew Mendonsa currently serves as the Chief Operational Officer for Cedar Point Recovery, a subsidiary of Sprout Health. He earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, and a MBA from Texas A&M University – a top tier and highly ranked business school. Andrew is licensed in California as a Clinical Psychologist and is also a recognized Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME). He has earned various professional and community accolades including the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award and a Congressional Medal for community service. Dr. Mendonsa’s vision and business skills have earned him a well-documented history of proven success in leadership within the mental health and substance abuse treatment industries. He is a recognized media expert appearing on various local and national media networks discussing topics around treatment and recovery. Before leading Cedar Point, Dr. Mendonsa maintained a thriving private practice, worked for a large healthcare system, and oversaw contract forensic treatment programs for local and state law enforcement agencies.
Ian Johnson, MDMedical Director
Dr. Ian Johnson is a board certified family medicine physician with additional interest in addiction medicine. He has been the medical director of several outpatient Opioid Treat Programs and community medical clinics. In addition to these other responsibilities, Dr. Johnson also serves as the medical director for detox at Cedar Point Recovery drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Sacramento, California. Dr. Johnson has an extensive military experience which includes: Active Duty Flight Surgeon, US Air Force and Combat Life Support Instructor and Subject Matter Expert in suicide prevention, US Army Reserves. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves. Dr. Johnson is an active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, California Society of Addiction Medicine, American Academy of Family Practitioners and California Academy of Family Practitioners. Dr. Johnson’s principal hobby is writing poetry. Many of his poems have been inspired by and written for patients whom he has attended to in his duties as an addiction medicine physician.
Jody M. Ressio, MA, LAADCClinical Director
Jody M. Ressio
Jody serves at the Executive Director at Cedar Point Recovery. She brings extensive administrative experience working in private, nonprofit, and medically assisted substance abuse treatment facilities. She has a MA in Psychology, is a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and is a certified interventionist. Jody has over 16 years of her own sobriety and has chosen this field to give hope and success to people who are suffering with addiction. Jody brings both passion and expertise to program oversight at Cedar Point Recovery and is dedicated to ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality services on their road to recovery.
Jamie Maxwell, MFTAssociate Clinical Director
Jamie serves as the Associate Clinical Director at Cedar Point Recovery. Jamie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in both clinical and administrative roles, and assists in providing oversight of both substance use and mental health programs. Jamie has worked within multiple settings including dual diagnosed, severe and chronic mental health, youth, private, non-profit, and alternative community based programs and is strongly grounded in evidence based clinical skills. Jamie treats each clients with a unique and tailored approach to ensure their time at Cedar Point reflects optimal consideration of their individual needs.
Andrew Wakefield, MFTMental Health Track Clinical Supervisor
Andrew oversees the Mental Health Program at Cedar Point Recovery. He has provided evaluation and treatment to forensic populations, including substance abusing clients, sex offenders and human trafficking victims, for the past several years. Andrew has provided care in various settings including hospitals, jails, inpatient units and outpatient clinics. He is licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He has been featured on national podcasts speaking on forensic, mental health, and substance abuse topics. He has conducted presentations on topics including law and ethics, clinical supervision, forensic assessment, psychopathy and self-care for various law enforcement agencies, universities and both private and public organizations.
Alex Medlin, ASWMental Health Therapist
Alex is a Mental Health Therapist at Cedar Point Recovery. Alex has developed professional experience working with various populations and industries including, individual and group therapy for individuals living with mental illness, children struggling with behavioral difficulties, parolees who are receiving services to decrease recidivism rates in regards to sex offending, and most all of all those with co-occurring disorders. Alix has graduated with her Master's in Social Work with a focus in Behavioral Health and has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Minor in Psychology.
Nicole McClure, AMFTMental Health Therapist
Nicole is a Mental Health Therapist at Cedar Point Recovery. Nicole has a passion for helping individuals suffering from mental illness. Nicole holds a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from California State University and a Master’s of Science in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy.
Alex Noriega, CADC-IIClinician
A Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor for over 10 years, Alex has experience providing counseling for a diverse clientele. Alex has guided clients to pursuing their recovery plans while assisting family and friends in support mechanisms. Committed to the success of his clients, Alex looks at each participant from a holistic perspective.
Daniel Marquez, CADC-IICase Manager
As Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor for over 18 years, Daniel’s has experience providing counseling for a wide variety of age groups, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds as well as in diverse treatment modalities. Daniel has worked with individuals seeking treatment of their own accord, those who have come to me by way family intervention, and those mandated by the legal system. Daniel is a solutions-oriented clinician dedicated to providing exceptional care.
Lane Schneider, CADC-ICase Manager
Lane is a Case Manager at both Detox and Cal Center. A Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I), Lane has been working in the AOD field for 1o years as a Counselor, Program Director and an Outpatient Coordinator. Additionally, he has designed a 6-Hour Intensive Employment Workshop specifically designed to assist those in recovery to re-enter the work force. Lane spends most of his time at Cedar Point Recovery assisting participants in taking care of their personal needs, so they can focus on their recovery.
Jacquline Gonzales, RADTAssessment Coordinator
Jacquline, “Jackie” is an Assessment Coordinator. Jackie is a CCAPP registered RADT and will soon become a CADC-1. Jackie attended American River College where she graduated with 5 Associates degrees all in the Human Service and Chemical Dependency field. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Substance with a goal is to obtain her Masters of Social Work. Jackie is the first contact our participants have with our clinical staff. With her warm and empathetic nature Jackie is able to create a safe and trusting environment for participants to feel comfortable opening up to her.
Danny Johnson, RADTCase Manager
Danny is a Case Manager at our Detox facility. A Registered Drug and Alcohol counselor, A Vietnam Veteran, Danny has over 30 years of sobriety. He is currently in school furthering his education in the drug and alcohol field. Danny has a deep commitment to helping those suffering from addiction.
Patricia is a substance abuse clinician. As a CCAPP Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician working towards her hours to obtain her CADC-I, she currently holds a Certificate in Counseling for Alcohol and Other Drugs and a Certificate in Human Services. Her educational plans to go onto graduate school to obtain her Masters in Psychology are indicative of the kind of commitment and dedication she shows in every aspect of her work. She is an excellent team player, bringing with her skills and experience in Conflict Resolution, Communication, Emotional Regulation, and the 12-step recovery model. Trish is known for strong but gentle empathy and her ability to see the bigger picture, especially in treatment planning and aftercare. Clients appreciate her ability to hold the dialectic between change and acceptance, and her resourcefulness and dependability to client centered care.
Danielle does aftercare outreach for clients who have completed treatment at Cedar Point Recovery. She follows up with clients directly after they leave and keeps them connected to Cedar Point throughout the following year after their completion. While clients are in treatment, Danielle works tirelessly to make their stay enjoyable and memorable. Danielle has worked in a multitude of positions at Cedar Point Recovery and is very passionate about working with individuals looking to change their life in a positive way. She currently hold an Associate’s Degree in both Human Services and Chemical Dependency. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in applied Behavioral Health with an emphasis in psychology. Her short term goals are to obtain her CADC-I and finish her Bachelor’s degree. Her long term personal goals are to obtain a Master’s degree in either social work or psychology.

Manuel A. Bohorquez, “Manny" is a clinical at Cedar Point Recovery. He has degrees in Chemical Dependency and Social Work and is working toward his master’s degree. He has been working in the AOD field for over five years and has a year of experience of working with adults that have mental health needs in Yolo County. He served 21 years in the United States Army and has personal knowledge and professional experience with working with first responders and the unique challenges faced by this population.
Maryl Russo, BAFacilities Administrator
Maryl is responsible for all non-clinical staff, detox staff and program operations. She ensures that program service quality is upheld and employees are performing their duties according to all Federal and State laws. With over 20 years in medical facilities management she brings leadership and compassion to Cedar Point Recovery.
Nathan Desrys, CADC-II, ICADCBusiness Development Liaison
Nathan Desrys is our Business Development Liaison. He is responsible for the marketing, advertising, and the referral process and community relations of Cedar Point Recovery. He is a Sacramento native and has worked in the field of addiction treatment for over 8 years in a variety of treatment settings. Nathan is currently a State and Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well a Certified Interventionist.
Mallory Kidwell, LVNDetox Manager
Mallory is responsible for overseeing the general daily operations of the detox from a clinical and administrative perspective. Having been in the substance abuse and recovery field for almost four year, Mallory brings a fresh perspective to detox. Mallory is pursuing her bachelor’s degree to become a registered nurse. She is passionate about helping those in recovery.
Taylor Johnson, RADTOffice Technician Supervisor
Taylor is the Office Technician Supervisor at Cedar Point Recovery. She is responsible overseeing office technician staff. The care and well-being of participants is her primary concern. In 2014 Taylor completed her Chemical Dependency counseling school and spent a year counseling youth. Taylor enjoys watching participants successfully complete the program and thrive in daily life.
