Cedar Point Recovery is proud to introduce the licensed and certified alcohol and drug treatment professionals that make up our treatment team, as well as the rest of the staff that make recovery possible for our clients.
Our treatment team incorporates all of our rehabilitation services into individualized addiction recovery programs specifically designed for each client.
Our people are passionate about working with people in addiction recovery, and use every available resource to design treatment programs that meet our clients physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Andrew Mendonsa, Psy.D, MBAChief Operating Officer
Dr. Andrew Mendonsa currently serves as the Chief Operational Officer for Cedar Point Recovery, a subsidiary of Sprout Health. He earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, and a MBA from Texas A&M University – a top tier and highly ranked business school. Andrew is licensed in California as a Clinical Psychologist and is also a recognized Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME). He has earned various professional and community accolades including the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award and a Congressional Medal for community service. Dr. Mendonsa’s vision and business skills have earned him a well-documented history of proven success in leadership within the mental health and substance abuse treatment industries. He is a recognized media expert appearing on various local and national media networks discussing topics around treatment and recovery. Before leading Cedar Point, Dr. Mendonsa maintained a thriving private practice, worked for a large healthcare system, and oversaw contract forensic treatment programs for local and state law enforcement agencies.
Ian Johnson, MDMedical Director
Dr. Ian Johnson is a board certified family medicine physician with additional interest in addiction medicine. He has been the medical director of several outpatient Opioid Treat Programs and community medical clinics. In addition to these other responsibilities, Dr. Johnson also serves as the medical director for detox at Cedar Point Recovery drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Sacramento, California. Dr. Johnson has an extensive military experience which includes: Active Duty Flight Surgeon, US Air Force and Combat Life Support Instructor and Subject Matter Expert in suicide prevention, US Army Reserves. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves. Dr. Johnson is an active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, California Society of Addiction Medicine, American Academy of Family Practitioners and California Academy of Family Practitioners. Dr. Johnson’s principal hobby is writing poetry. Many of his poems have been inspired by and written for patients whom he has attended to in his duties as an addiction medicine physician.
Rebecca Harris, CADC-II, ICADCClinical Coordinator, Community Outreach Educator
Rebecca is our Clinical Coordinator and Community Outreach Educator. She is a long-time member of the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals and is a level two certified alcohol and drug counselor with extensive experience in chemical dependency treatment including partial hospitalization and outpatient programs. She has a soft spot for women in recovery and is known for her strength and compassion. Rebecca was the coordinator of Community Recovery Resources, an outpatient treatment center where she developed the Mothers in Recovery Child Development program. She more than doubled the size of the program, increasing access to specialized care for mothers and their children. Rebecca has extensive experience working with relational trauma and survivors of domestic violence. She is solution-focused while being trauma-informed and provides her clients with a wealth of resources and a contagious sense of hope. She brings to Cedar Point a strong background in supervision and teaching and works with many outside agencies and programs in our community.
Jody M. Ressio, MA, LAADCClinical Director
Jody M. Ressio
Jody brings experience working in private, nonprofit and medically assisted substance abuse treatment facilities. She has a MA in Psychology, is a Licensed Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a certified interventionist. Jody has over 15 years of her own sobriety and has chosen this field to give hope and success to people who are suffering with addiction.
Erin Wilson, RADTDirector of Business Development
Erin is responsible for the marketing, advertising, referral process and community relations of Cedar Point Recovery. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Organization Communication from CSU, Sacramento. Erin is currently training to become a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. In recovery herself, she wants to help those struggling with addiction and mental health disorders.
Danielle SutherlandClient Concierge, Alumni Coordinator
Danielle does aftercare outreach for clients who have completed treatment at Cedar Point Recovery. She follows up with clients directly after they leave and keeps them connected to Cedar Point throughout the following year after their completion. While clients are in treatment, Danielle works tirelessly to make their stay enjoyable and memorable. Danielle has worked in a multitude of positions at Cedar Point Recovery and is very passionate about working with individuals looking to change their life in a positive way. She currently hold an Associate’s Degree in both Human Services and Chemical Dependency. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in applied Behavioral Health with an emphasis in psychology. Her short term goals are to obtain her CADC-I and finish her Bachelor’s degree. Her long term personal goals are to obtain a Master’s degree in either social work or psychology.
Adam MathenyCase Manager
Adam has been with Cedar Point since we opened our doors to our community. He has worked in Guest Services, and our Partial Hospitalization Program and he now serves as an expert Case Manager and skilled Clinician. He brings a passion for serving others and extensive education and experience in Chemical Dependency and Human Services. Adam has worked in rehabilitation centers with troubled teens as a Youth Advisor and has served as a First Responder Firefighter for some of California’s most devastating wildfires. He has a knack for combining compassion and humor in even the most stressful situations and is a skilled at implementing evidence-based approaches to treatment. He is currently studying trauma-informed and trauma-specific treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Seeking Safety. Adam understands the implications of trauma on substance abuse is skilled at working with people to identify the role trauma has played in their patterns of maladaptive behaviors. He is looking for continued growth within our community
Patricia CliffordClinical Intern
Patricia is one of our most experienced interns here at Cedar Point. As a CCAPP Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician, she is currently a student at American River College working on a Certificate in Counseling for Alcohol and Other Drugs and a Certificate in Human Services. Her educational plans to go onto graduate school to obtain her Masters in Social Work are indicative of the kind of hardworking and dedication she shows in every aspect of her work. She is an excellent team player and is always willing to jump right into any situation, bringing with her extensive skills and experience in Conflict Resolution and the 12-step recovery model. Trish is known for strong but gentle empathy and her ability to see the bigger picture especially in treatment planning. Clients appreciate her ability to hold the dialectic between change and acceptance and her resourcefulness and dependability.
Manuel A. Bohorquez, BSWCase Manager
Manuel A. Bohorquez
Manuel A. Bohorquez, "Manny" is a Case Manager at our Stewart House. He has degrees in Chemical Dependency and Social Work. He is working toward his master’s degree in social work at Sacramento State University. He has been working in the AOD field for five years and has a year of experience of working with adults that have mental health needs in Yolo County. He served 21 years in the United States Army and has personal knowledge and professional experience with working with first repsonders and the unique challenges faced by this population. His short term goal is to begin working with Veterans and helping them heal from substance abuse.
